    • Federal law requires states to report progress towards technology excellence
    • Texas uses the School Technology and Readiness Chart (STaR Chart)
      • Used to evaluate progress toward meeting the goals of the Long-Range Plan for Technology ( LRPT ) Click the link to see the plan.
      • Used for technology planning, budgeting for resources, and evaluation of progress in technology projects
  • 4. STaR Chart Overview
    • STaR Chart answers these questions:
      • What are your campus’ current educational technology profiles?
      • What evidence can be provided to demonstrate progress is meeting the goals of the LRPT?
      • What areas should we focus on to improve the level of technology integration to ensure the best possible teaching and learning for all students?
  • 5. Key Areas
    • Texas’ Long-Range Plan for Technology organizes recommendations for effective integration of technology in schools within for key areas:
      • Teaching and Learning
      • Educator Preparation and Development
      • Leadership, Administration, and Instructional Support
      • Infrastructure for technology
    • Each key area is classified as one of the following:
      • Early Tech
      • Developing Tech
      • Advanced Tech
      • Target Tech
  • 6. Teaching and Learning
    • The area of Teaching and Learning is broken down into six focus areas:
      • Patterns of Classroom Use
      • Frequency/Design of Instructional Setting Using Digital Content
      • Content Area Connections
      • Technology Applications TEKS Implementation
      • Student Mastery of Technology Applications TEKS
      • Online Learning
