Ballet

  1. 1. When you are in Ballet 5 or Ballet6, then you will be taught to danceen Pointe. En Pointe requires aspecial type of ballet shoe calleda toe shoe, shown below.
  2. 2. A Pas de Duex is when two dancers, amale and female, dance together. Amale must be very strong, and afemale must be very agile andgraceful. The dancers should also becomfortable with each other. You cansee some examples in dances like SwanLake and Coppelia.
  3. 3.  If a ballet dancer is a male, he usually wears tights,ballet shoes and a detailed top. If a ballerina is a female, she wears either a leotard ora tutu, and toe shoes.

  5. 5. Line up. Pose in the position shown (ifyou don’t have ballet shoes/toeshoes, do it in your socks. It is bestto use toe shoes.)Take a photo.This requires two people. (ifpossible, use a boy and a girl.)
