This year’s training will provideinformational sessions on not only legal tools forhelping students but also programmatic supportsavailable in South Carolina schools that support their Connecting Studentsacademic achievement.School Finance Update: with ToolsThe issue of adequate funding for our state’spublic schools has been widely debated in courts, for School Successthe legislature, and among citizens. At this year’straining, you’ll receive basic information on how ourfinance system works and on budget cuts and other Trainingchanges that are impacting students and schools.Special Education: Mashburn Construction Company, Inc.Working with students with disabilities involves 1820 Sumter Street | Columbia, SC 29201learning complex laws to help parents fully accesstheir student’s protections. This year, we will providetraining on developing effective Section 504 plans, Friday, March 9, 2012utilizing other applicable laws to help students, and 9:00 am - 4:15 pmoffer other practical tips and tools.Bullying:Studies have shown that nearly one in five studentsin an average classroom is experiencing bullying insome way.
