    Introduce yourself 6 day trek in the Sahara desert

    Charity Challenge are the UK’s leading adventure travel company specialising exclusively in the organisation, leadership and administration of inspirational fundraising expeditions.   Charity Challenge organise more than 100 challenges each year for around 2,500 participants, and have so far helped to raise in excess of 23 million pounds for over 1000 UK and Irish registered charities. They are ATOL Bonded licensed and insured. Most recently they organised the Comic Relief celebrity climb of Mount Kilimanjaro for Gary Barlow, Cheryl Cole etc.

    Your flights will in London London 1810hrs to Casablanca Then Casablanca to Ouarzatate arriving at 0030hrs, transfer to your Hotel 2 ½ days trekking Early morning flight back from Ouarzazate to Casablanca , 6 hours in Casablanca, then flight back to London

    You will only carry water, lunch and essentials - waterproof, camera, sunscreen The support team will carry the rest of the luggage in support vehicles/ camels that you can access at rest stop or at the end of the day

    A typical day : Wake up at approx. 6:30am, and given a basic but hearty breakfast. After breakfast you will pack up with the help of all the tour leaders and begin the first trek of the day for about 3 hours. A long and early lunch will be taken to avoid trekking during the hottest part of the day. We set off to walk again for another approx 3 hours and then we establish camp late afternoon for dinner and a well-deserved rest.

    Each morning you will be provided with a very filling breakfast of hot sweet Moroccan coffee, hot chocolate and bread and cheeses. Lunch will be a packed lunch and for dinner it will vary between western style food and Moroccan national fare. Food will always be ample and will provide heaps of energy. Please let Charity Challenge knows prior to departure if you have any specific dietary requirements or allergies.

    The accommodation will be in a 3star hotel on the first night and then the 5 star Le Berebere Palace hotel Whilst trekking you will be in 3-5 man bedouin tents If you are travelling with a friend or partner who you wish to share with, please let Charity Challenge know in advance.

This is the spectacular 5 star location for to relax and unwind after your Sahara desert trek experience.  Abandon yourself to the beauty of this wonderful oasis and enjoy a complete change of scene, while forgetting stress and bustling urban life. In a serene and fully relaxed atmosphere, you can make the most of the spa, a real peaceful haven which offers a blend of efficient treatments and refined care including a hammam, hairdresser, jacuzzi, gymnasium, sauna and options for a massage. Adhering to local culture, the Berbere Palace is built in the Kasbah style and with a mix of Berber and traditional crafts, an ambience of space and charm has been created. Centrally located on a high point, this Ouarzazate hotel has 240 air-conditioned rooms each with private terrace/patio, satellite TV, phone, mini-bar, bath & shower. Facilities include large pool (not heated), dining room serving Moroccan and international cuisine, grill and piano bar, boutique and fitness centre with hammam and jacuzzi.

    Insurance – purchased through CC. One emergency number for all and comprehensive cover. Any claims get police rpt & incident rpt. Keep all receipts Passport – 6 months until expiry. Air Travel Tickets (you will receive these at the airport)   Cash – approx £100, you will not have the opportunity to spend money whilst trekking , we recommend £20 tip at the end of the trek for the local guides, drivers, chefs. And for drinks/tips at the restaurants Credit Cards. You will be able to use them in Ouarzazate and is useful to take in case of emergency

    Nomad Travel Stores Medical Centre recommended the following vaccinations: tetanus; poliomyelitis; hepatitis A. They also suggest taking advice from your GP about: typhoid; diphtheria; hepatitis B; rabies; tuberculosis.
