  1. 1. Questionnaire results Leah Watts
  2. 2. Question 1: 0 2 4 6 8 10 12 14 Girl Boy What is your gender? What is your gender? I asked both girls and boys to give a better and more equal view on the magazine as my magazine is for both genders.
  3. 3. Question 2: 0 2 4 6 8 10 12 14 16 Yes No Are you between 17-24 and like indie music? Are you between 17-24 and like indie music? I Asked this question so that I could see if who I was asking was 17-24 and liked indie music as this is who my indie magazine is aimed at so I could see the different opinions of people who are not indie fans and what they think of the magazine and whether they personally think it fits the indie genre.
  4. 4. Question 3: What do you like most about my three pages for my music magazine as a whole? • Colour scheme throughout • Images- bold, confident, unique girl- reflects indie genre. • Font- simple-easy to read. • Not too busy- good amount of information- could add a few more images to contents to draw me in more. This shows me that my magazine is mainly appealing to the people I asked but could improve by adding more images of indie artists to show more of a variety of people who have been ‘DISCOVERED’.
  5. 5. Question 4: 0 5 10 15 20 25 Yes No Do you think my front cover, contents page and double page spread fit in with the indie music genre? Do you think my front cover, contents page and double page spread fit in with the indie music genre? I found out from this result that everyone I asked thought my magazine fitted the indie genre, which make my magazine a success in terms of other peoples opinons meaning i achieved my aim to make it look like a real indie magazine.
  6. 6. Question 5: 0 2 4 6 8 10 12 14 Very well Well Could be better Not well How well do you think the images I have used work? How well do you think the images I have used work? 7. 7. Question 6: What do you like best about my front cover image? Does it fit the genre? • The image- draws you into the magazine to read it. • The masthead- bold and gets your attention. • In the image she is holding a guitar which reflects the genre (indie). • Colours- like other music magazines, so enables the us to see what kind of magazine it is. These results show me that most of the aspects on my front cover, work and fit the genre showing I have achieved my aim according to these people/
  8. 8. Question 7: 0 5 10 15 20 25 Yes No Does the price £2.50 (the price of my magazine) appeal to you when buying a music magazine? Does the price £2.50 (the price of my magazine) appeal to you when buying a music magazine? This shows me that people like cheaper magazines in this age group, maybe due to the amount of money they have, showing the price I picked was suitable and would appeal to people looking to buy a music magazine.
  9. 9. Question 8 0 2 4 6 8 10 12 14 16 What is the best part of the magazine? What is the best part of the magazine? From these results I can see that different people liked different parts of the magazine, but overall most people (14 out of 20) like the images the best showing my images are successful and draw the audience in/appeal to them.
  10. 10. Question 9: 0 5 10 15 20 25 Yes No Would you read the article on my double page spread if you bought this magazine? Would you read the article on my double page spread if you bought this magazine? Why? – Not too long, language used is simple and easy to read, the image next to the article draws you in, I would want to find out about the cover artist. These results show me that the way I have laid out the double page spread would entice them to read the article as there is not much writing and the image goes along side it. This shows that I have followed magazine conventions and my audience likes this.
  11. 11. Question 10: 0 5 10 15 20 25 Yes No Do you like the the way I have laid all of the pages out? Column1 Column2 This shows me that the way I have laid out my pages has been successful as I tried to follow magazine conventions and mix it up a bit in parts but is still appealing to the audience.

This shows me that the majority (all but 1 person) think the colour scheme works making it overall successful as I have used only around four colours keeping it simple for my audience.
  13. 13. Question 12: 0 5 10 15 20 25 Yes No Do you think the pages look like they would be in a real music magazine? Do you think the pages look like they would be in a real music magazine? 14. 14. Question 13: 0 2 4 6 8 10 12 14 16 18 20 Yes No Do you think that my music magazine suits both genders, aged 17-24, who are indie fans? Do you think that my music magazine suits both genders, aged 17-24, who are indie fans? 15. 15. Question 14: 0 2 4 6 8 10 12 14 16 18 20 Yes No Would you buy this magazine if you were to see it in a shop? Would you buy this magazine if you were to see it in a shop? Why/why not?- Yes- Images draw me in, not to bright with only a few colours, cover lines appeal to me, would want to read on, price is good for a music magazine. No- Would want artists from other genres featured (by name) on front cover to entice me to read on, more colour needed to attract me. This shows me that most people are drawn in by everything on the front cover but some find that it doesn’t fit what they are looking for in a magazine, this shows me it may not appeal to people that do not really like indie music at all.
  16. 16. Question 15: 0 5 10 15 20 25 Yes No Do you think the pages all link together through a theme? (colour, image, font etc) Do you think the pages all link together through a theme? (1-best 5-least) What would you rate my magazine out of 5 in terms of it looking like an indie magazine? (1-best 5- least) This shows me that I have been successful in making it look indie and this is important as it is my chosen genre and if it did not fit this then it would not be a good magazine that would sell if it was on a shop shelf.
  18. 18. Overall, I have found from my questionnaire that my magazine appeals to my target audience and fits with the indie genre as a whole magazine, making my magazine successful for me as my audience think that it is effective and works as a real magazine. This questionnaire has helped me to see if everything works well or not and has helped me with what I could have done to make it even better.
