National Career Development Assoc. <ul><li>Established in 1913, the National Career Development Association (NCDA) is one the premier providers of professional development in the career field. The Global CDF Credential <ul><li>Oakland University developed the CDF competencies and a CDF instructor training curriculum. </li></ul><ul><li>Various groups worked with Center for Credentialing and Education and the National Board of Certified Counselors to develop requirements for the GCDF credential. </li></ul><ul><li>1996, the GCDF credential was developed to provide standards, training specs and credentialing for career practitioners (both counselors/non counseling professionals). </li></ul>LDW Group LLC - All Rights Reserved

The Global CDF Credential <ul><li>In 2006, NCDA begin offering the CDF curriculum as a blended online course. </li></ul><ul><li>Global CDF certification is provided through the Center for Credentialing and Education, Inc., a subsidiary of the National Board for Certified Counselors. </li></ul><ul><li>Certification is limited to those participants who attend training from a certified instructor; certification is for 5 years with recertification requirements of 75 hours of continuing education to be completed. </li></ul><ul><li>Successful completion of CDF training requires mastering 12 core competencies </li></ul>LDW Group LLC - All Rights Reserved

Tenenbaum, State Superintendent of Education) Both the school-based middle and high school career specialists and the regionally based career specialists who provide career services to school districts must hold a bachelor’s degree and the Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) certification from the Center for Credentialing and Education (CCE).
