  • 4. Jackson Pollock
Jackson Pollock began to make his paintings in 1946
He would lay his canvas on the floor to ensure that he could access the canvas from all 4 sides.
He started using house paints in his work.
Jackson would drip the paint on to the canvas by using either sticks or brushes.
  • 5. Jackson Pollock
Jackson uses his entire wrists, arms and body to show movement on the canvas.
    Other about Jackson:
-He would listen to jazz music hours on end-which may explain his sporadic movements on the canvas
  • 6. I had used flat black ordinary house paint.
My painter had used the paint stir sticks to drip the paint onto the canvas.
  • 7. Hans Namuth
He had photographed Jackson Pollock one summer evening
Hans Namuth’s boss told him that Pollock would eventually be an important person in the art world.
Since then Namuth focused on photographing creative personalities.
Before it had been random assignments.
