  • A browser is a program that has to be loaded on your computer. The browser then allows you connect to the Internet and use the various services. Open a browserEvery web page has a specific address referred to as the uniform resource locator or URL. When you know the URL you can just type it into address baoxLook for address box, query box, menu bar, bookmarks toolbar
  • When on a page that you like, grab the URL with the cursor and move it to the toolbar:Now whenever you want to go to this site, all you have to do is click the button!!
  • Having favorites and bookmarks can really save a lot of time but the downside is that the collection of bookmarks is specific to the computer you’re usingLast Pass
  • A SEARCH ENGINE brings source on the web to you. A service that combs the items on the Web, for a specified word or words and provides a list ofdocumentsinwhichtheyarefound. Examples include Google, Bing, Ask, Yahoo

  • Quotation marks around your group or words creates a phrase.When you conduct a search at Google WITHOUT the quotes, you get results that contain your keywords IN ANY COMBINATION.But......when you conduct a search WITH the quotes, you get results that only include pages that contain your EXACT keyword phrase.
