<ul><li>Some are drawn by parties,money, & drugs. </li></ul><ul><li>Some are looking for a sense of respect and power. </li></ul><ul><li>Some want to make money -- to help out at home or to have nice clothes, or just to brag. </li></ul><ul><li>Some grow up in a neighborhood where it is almost a way of life. </li></ul>
88% of all boys and over 76% of girls surveyed said they shot someone in the past 12 months because they needed money. about 30-40 percent of boys and 15-30 percent of girls reports having committed a serious violent offense by age 17. having to do with gang related activity. A gun in the home is 43 times more likely to be used to kill a family member or friend or to commit suicide than to defend oneself. Guns are often used in roberies and drug related crimes.
