  • 6. When Soonie’s great-grandma was seven She was sold from her family … as a slave
  • 7. Big Mama Made ‘Show Way” quilts helping slaves find freedom
  • 8. Those quilts were very special, leading slaves to freedom
  • 9. Underground railroad….
  • 10. One generation after the nextcontinued with the ‘Show Way”
  • 11. Soonie was born and her mom said,“There’s a road, girl. There’s a road …”
  • 12. The slaves were freed Still they worked very hard
  • 13. Soonie sewed the quiltsselling them for money and started her own family … …..
  • 14. There was still a road yet to go …
  • 15. Caroline & Ann had ‘Show Way’ patchespinned inside their dresses that helped them be less scared with their road
