The opening scene of the soap was filmed in an alleyway in Manchester to give the soap a working class complexion. Whereas in Northern Quarter the age group of the characters is very similar therefore meaning only an audience of specific age can relate to the social problem’s and dilemma’s of the soap’s characters.
