Q5. How did you attract/address your audience?

  1. 1. Q5. How did you attract/address your audience?
  2. 2. The front cover image is a girl portraying an indie style by wearing clothing that an indieperson wears. The model is also giving the audience direct address which draws them inwith a feeling of trust. She also has an individual attitude that the reader can relate to.
  3. 3. I created a questionnaire and after having people in the range of my target audiencecomplete it I used the results to help design the product. This gave me a better idea ofwhat my target audience wanted and I was able to meet there wants. I then put all ofthe respondents answers into bar graphs and pie charts so I could evaluate them moreclearly and get a better idea of what my target audience want from a indie genremusic magazine. This is the questionnaire that was completed by my target audience. Results of audience feedback in the form of bar graphs and pie charts.
  4. 4. COLOUR SCHEMEOne of the questions that I asked my target audience was ‘What is the colour/s that you wouldlike to see on the front of an Indie music magazine?’The main colours that would be preferred to be seen on an Indie music magazine were black, red and white. With blue, purple, green and pink being ones that some would like to see butthey’re least favoured. I used the colours that the respondents to my questionnaire favoured the most to attract and appeal to them as they are the main target audience. 16 14 12 10 8 6 4 2 0 Black Red Blue Purple White Green Pink FAVOURITE COLOURS
  5. 5. I have kept the same colour scheme going throughout all ofthe production. However, I have used the same yellow on both the front coverand the main page of the DPS but this colour was not part ofthe chosen colour scheme I chosen it as it is a bright colourthat stands out which will help to capture the audiencesattention. Chosen colour scheme: Black, Red and White.
  6. 6. COVERLINES AND FEATURESAnother question that I asked in the questionnaires was ‘Who is your favourite IndieBand/Singer?’ These results would determine the artists/bands that would be one of thecoverlines and feature in the magazine as their fans will buy the magazine to see what theartists/bands are doing in it. 4.5 4 3.5 3 2.5 2 1.5 1 0.5 0 NAMES OF THE PEOPLES FAVOURITE BANDS/SINGERS
  7. 7. 9. 9. Refrain who is the band that I had to interview for the double page spread are a band who base there musicon the indie type genre. I think this will attract the attention of the target audience with the magazine beingan indie magazine they may be interested in indie bands that are breaking into the music business. Again Ihave kept to the main colour scheme of Black, Red and White, however, I have added the same yellow that Iused on the front cover to link the pages together more. As the respondents of the audience research arewhere a part of the target audience that I was aiming at the colour scheme will attract them as they saidthat they would mainly like to see them colours. The language that is used is used by indie people as theband themselves are indie and use the same language.
