Electronic Interference <ul><li>When devices are put close together they may interfere with each other, in a way that one of the device might not functioning very well. </li></ul><ul><li>Examples: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>A walkie talkie disturbs television reception </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Mobile phone interfering with hospital equipments or an aeroplane </li></ul></ul>

Pollution Problems <ul><li>Computers have shorter life compared to many other electronic systems. </li></ul><ul><li>To protect it we should remember 4R: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Reduce - Minimize the use of costly resources </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Recycle - Recycle paper, disks, batteries, etc </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Reuse - Avoid using disposable items. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Repair - Do not simply throw away computers or peripherals with minor problems. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Recycling means using the used materials again in one way or another. </li></ul></ul></ul>

What considered unfriendly to the environment? <ul><li>Raw materials used to make computer are thrown away </li></ul><ul><li>Toxic waste is produced when electronic parts of computers are made </li></ul><ul><li>Batteries and cartridges contan toxic chemicals that can poison water and soil habitat </li></ul><ul><li>Computers use up a lot of paper. More paper means more trees being cut down </li></ul><ul><li>The use of Chlorofluorocarbons (CFC). Found in cleaning kits spray and aerosol sprays. Its destroys the Ozone layers </li></ul>
