Use the strong points of bipolar cultures:
TV world:
proprietary standards, restricted access, paid content
Web world:
open standards, universal access, free content

Goals
Integrating TV & Web with help of semantics
Using semantics (linked open data) to open and interlink TV content in a Web fashion
Putting the user back in the driving seat
Using semantics to connect the multitude of distributed personal data
TV is not bound to the device
Computer as TV & vice versa
Mobile device as remote control

High-level architecture

Use of Linked Open Data (LOD)
DBPedia, Freebase, WordNet(s), TV genre typologies, TV Anytime, BBC Programme ontology, (constantly growing list)
Expose TV metadata as Semantic Web data
Use LOD concepts for metadata enrichment
Publish NoTube additions as extension to LOD
Combine and align Web & TV standards (public broadcasters)
