    • The + sign tells us to move to the positive side.We start at +2 and move +4 to the positive side. (+2) + (+4) = +6 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 Negative Positive
    • The - sign tells us to move to the Negative side. Westart at -3 and move -1 to the Negative side.When there are two – side by side you make it into a +. (-3) – (-2)= -5
    • If you have a problem that says 2×(+3) you justdo 3+3 to the positive side. If you have aproblem that says 2×(-3) you do 3+3 too but tothe negative side.
    • You can use the number line to divide. For example, youwant to divide 6 by some other number. First, draw anumber line that begins at 0 and ends at 6. Now, to findthe answer to 6 ÷ 2, just split this number line into twoequal parts.
