New EditionsNew Editions
“The software and the data only produce
a reliable result if the latest edition of
the data is used. From time to time the
UKHO will issue new editions of the data
or parts of it in order to maintain the
reliability of Total Tide. The issue of
new editions on the data will
automatically render previous editions
of that data unreliable.”

Notes (where applicable)Notes (where applicable)
Owing to the complicated variations in the tide between
Portland and Portsmouth, the time and height differences for
these places will only give approximate predictions. A more
accurate representation of the tidal curves at these places can
be obtained from the diagrams on pages xxii to xxiv of
Admiralty Tide Tables Vol. 1 (NP201).
Strong winds between north-east and south-east coupled with
high barometric pressures may reduce predicted levels by up to
1m and delay times of high and low waters by up to 1 hour.
Strong winds from the West coupled with low barometric
pressures may increase predicted levels and advance predicted
times by a similar amount.
