What BYOT Looks Like At Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School Prelection Viewing
Today, I host files on SkyDrive and/or Dropbox that student can access. Via Dropbox, I am able to have a shared file folder with another teacher for a course we both teach. I use Google sites and Google calendars to share the file links with students, giving one-click access for students… Layton Elliot – Math Teacher
French AP Students are getting more contact time with the language b/c of BYOT. They are assigned and immersed in the “real language” through almost daily opportunities to engage in listening and speaking skills …they study excerpts from films, popular television, talk shows, daily news, radio programs, … recipes, advertisements – almost anything you can think of that a native person is exposed to! Michelle Martin – French Teacher
Each academic counselor used their smartphone, student cell phones and the cloud! Students were tasked with accessing Edline, downloading a blank schedule from their Freshmen Seminar class, color coding it with Picture Manager/Adobe/app of choice and then sharing end product with their counselor. Jen Money-Brady – Academic Counselor
I don’t know how glamorous it is, but I do really like how it’s worked out. So I’m actually creating my map sections on my test in Google Maps, that way when the students do their Google Maps assignment they have example. I think it really helps them out. Matt Lo – Social Studies Teacher
