A Land Form is part of
the Earth made of
land.

A Water Form is the
part of the Earth that
is water.

                                  A lake is a body of water
                                  completely surrounded by
                                  land.




        An island is a body of land completely
                         surrounded by water.

Lake and Island Activity
Create your own lake and island with clay and blue colored water.
They look like opposites.

Materials:
Brown clay
Blue colored water in a spray bottle
Two white containers


Step 1: Spread clay around the bowl
And take out the center.

Step 2: Put the center in the other bowl.
Spray blue water in both containers as if it
Were raining. Ask students where they think the water will collect if it were to
rain and rain.

                                                                 land but with a wide
                                                                   opening to the sea

Cape and Bay Activity
Create your own cape and bay with clay and blue colored water.
They look like opposites.

Materials: Brown clay, Blue colored water
in a spray bottle, Two white containers

Step 1: Spread clay around the bowl
And mold a cape that jets into the center
Of the bowl.

Step 2: Put the brown clay in the other bowl,
Shape a bay out of the brown clay and
Spray blue water in both containers as if it
Were raining. Ask students where they think
the water will collect if it were to rain and rain.
