    • ACS is a Automation and Control solutions group specializing in environmental combustion controls, sensing controls, security and life safety products and services, process automation products and solutions and building solutions and services.
    • ACS originally used cataloging system to manage their paper Specification.
    • ACS moved to electronic environment by migrating all they specifications to a new database application.
    • As the internet and web based applications became popular, ACS decided to purchase a product management lifecycle solution.
  • 4. Analysis
    • ACS was in the transition stage from a database system to content management system.
    • Engineers were looking for information from all the sources.
    • The result was parallel use of two applications.

    • The following critical issues were identified with ACS:
