  2. 2. Using CINAHL <br />CINAHL - Cumulative index to nursing & allied health literature is a great database to search for Nursing theory<br />
  3. 3. How?<br />CINAHL is accessible from the Library home page under Journal Articles. It is listed alphabetically and by subject under Nursing.<br />
  4. 4. CINAHL <br />Type in nursing theory in the search box<br />Ensure that the box next to Suggest Subject Term is checked off<br />Click on the Search button<br />
  5. 5. CINAHL<br />Click on Search<br />
  6. 6. CINAHL<br />You will now see a series of suggested terms.<br />To view models of nursing theory, click on the Nursing Theory link<br />
  7. 7. CINAHL<br />Click on Nursing Models Theoretical<br />
  8. 8. CINAHL<br />You will now see a list of different nursing models<br />Simply click on the box next to any model<br />
  9. 9. CINAHL<br />Let’s select Newman Health Model<br />
  10. 10. CINAHL<br />Note that once we have selected a model, a list of subheadings appears and we can search for articles on our model by clicking on the green Search Database button<br />
  11. 11. CINAHL<br />We now have 160 results.<br />We can limit this search by date, type of publication, peer reviewed, etc.<br />
  12. 12. CINAHL<br />How?<br />Click on the Show More link under the date slider<br />
  13. 13. CINAHL<br />Click on the box next to Peer Reviewed<br />And type in your range of dates next to Published Date from<br />
  14. 14. CINAHL<br />We now have 14 results.<br />To check if the article is available, click on the icon<br />Let’s click on article #1<br />
  15. 15. CINAHL<br />This opens a new window.<br />Note that the article is available as an ejournal<br />To read it click on the link<br />
