This deck supports a workshop co-presented by Sue Stine, Rachael Seda, LaDonna Coy and special guests Sue Evans and Tricia Korthanke. The workshop briefly explores and demonstrates three web-based meeting platforms. • Visualization- thinking about your best online meeting or webinar experience. Get it clear in your mind, what did it look like, sound like, feel like? Got it. What characteristics about the meeting or event worked well?
  • Thinking of meetings or events that maybe didn’t go so well. What were the things that you found got in the way of your benefiting from the session?
  • Thinking about the pluses and challenges opens up our thinking for considering what these meetings and events can do for us.
  • Yugma is a low cost online meeting platform, where participants can share their desktop, use a whiteboard (like a virtual flipchart), change presenters, and has integrated phone service.
  • Opens a control panel and boxes on your screen. This allows you to share your desktop, show how to steps for a new platform like maybe you have a new reporting system and you want everyone to know how to use it. In Yugma, you can open a whiteboard, invite more people to your meeting, change presenters, share controls, record and playback. Unique to Yugma is file storage space on THEIR servers for you to post your recordings.
  • Here’s a few comparison elements, there are more on your handout titled Web-based meeting/training platform features comparison.
  • Now let’s look and compare GTM.
  • All you’ll need to use GTM can be accessed here from the web. Click to log in, schedule a meeting or check your meeting list. Meeting members can come to the website and click on “Join a meeting”. Put in the meeting number and they’re in. The first time you visit GTM it will load a small plug in and put an icon on your systems tray.
  • In addition, th eaccount manager will have a system icon in the systems tray on his/her computer. One click opens the scheduler .
  • Control Panel - others don’t see it, only you. You can make it smaller so it is out of the way if you click on the arrow, top left of remote. Then all you will see is the tiny sliver of a remote.

  • If your offline meetings put people to sleep, what do you expect will happen online? Unless ... you grab onto good meeting design. Sometimes when we start designing online meetings, our offline meetings get better! One tool is the PLANC.
  • The PLANC is a tool developed by Stephanie Nestlerode, Omega Point International. http://technologyinprevention.wikispaces.com/file/view/NewPLANC.pdf
  • Fill roles as needed .. like that of host/convener, chat monitor, scribe, process facilitator, content facilitator, timekeeper, and logistics coordinator.
