Overview <ul><li>My name is Lourdes Acido </li></ul><ul><li>I started school in 1991 at Kalihi Kai Elementary School. </li></ul><ul><li>I graduated from high school in 2005 from Farrington High School. </li></ul><ul><li>I first went to college at UH Manoa in 2005. </li></ul><ul><li>When I finish my degree, I hope to become a middle school or high school English teacher. </li></ul>

  8. 8. A vivid technology learning experience <ul><li>Myspace/Facebook </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Social networking sites allowed for interaction on a global and local level. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Experiencing other people’s worlds through other people’s words. </li></ul></ul>
  9. 9. A technology I want to use in my classroom <ul><li>Digital Readers allow for students to carry thousands of books in the palm of their hand anywhere and everywhere. </li></ul>
  10. 10. My vision of the classroom of the future <ul><li>I want classrooms to be able to virtually change their settings to enhance the learning experience. The class could be in India in one minute and then on Saturn the next minute. </li></ul>
  11. 11. A challenge for teaching <ul><li>Availability/ Accessibility </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Some students will not be able to gain access to a computer as often as others could. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>There might not be enough computers provided for students in certain schools. </li></ul></ul>
