Transformational Learning
Transformational learning shapes people; they are different afterward, in ways both they and others can recognize.

The goal of transformational learning is to gain a crucial sense of agency over ourselves and our lives

We control our experiences
rather than be controlled
by them.

The focus on change in consciousness is manifested in many ways.

Rusty couldn't tell hisstory by himself, because although it happenedto him, he doesn't own the experience--

As he was orbiting the Earth, Rusty identified at first with what was familiar to him. With time and exposure, his concept of what was familiar to him expanded and there were no boundaries between what was previously common or foreign to him.
It became a "whole" understanding.

This article focuses on the current crisis’s we face as a planet and as a human race.
It suggests that these problems are a result of our
current thinking paradigms.

Some conditions that “evoke and support transformative learning “:
An unexpected and disorienting experience.
An interpersonal context that provides support, equal access to information, and the processes of information exchange.
Capacities for self-awareness, discernment, inner dialogue, and critical reflection.
“Flexibility within individuals and the group to approach some learning appreciatively, some critically as well as the wisdom to know one from the other.”

We seek ways to stimulate and accelerate the process of transformative learning with the hopes that we may find types of thinking that will enable us to make a successful response to the complex difficulties we create on this planet we call home.

What Kind of Education?
In order to have an education that goes to the core of the life that you are living, it is necessary that you undergo a transformation in your consciousness that will affect you at the
deepest level of your being.

The fundamental educational task of our time is to make the choice for a sustainable planetary habitat of interdependent life forms over and against the pathos of the global competitive marketplace.

Planetary consciousness opens us up into the awesome vision of a world that energizes our imagination well beyond market place vision.
