Lesson 9 activity; paragraphs

  1. 1. Directions: <br /><ul><li>Read the 5 paragraphs about nocturnal animals. Decide which sentences do not make it a paragraph and delete them.
  2. 2. Click on the animal link (ctrl + click mouse). Click on tab “Video and Sound.” Watch video. The video is the topic.
  3. 3. After watching the video, type in sentences that match the topic to make it a paragraph. If you need help thinking of something to write, you can click on the “Facts and Photos” tab to help you when thinking about what to write.
  4. 4. You need to write at least 3 sentences that relates to the topic sentence.</li></ul>Topic: Anaconda<br />Anacondas are very large snakes. My dog runs fast. When it is nice out, I take my dog to the park. One time at the park, I saw a small snake.<br />Topic: American Alligator<br />Alligators live majority of their life in the water. Fish also live in the water. Fish have gills that helps them breath. Some fish eat algae, and some eat other fish.<br />Topic: Black Rhinoceros<br />The rhinoceros is a nocturnal animal the lives in grasslands. Birds also live in the grasslands. This grassland habitat can get very hot. Animals need to stay cool during the day when it is so hot.<br />Topic: Vampire Bats<br />Vampires bats are nocturnal creates that rest during the day and hunt for food at night. Rats also hunt at night too. Count Dracula was a vampire. I once saw that movie when I was younger.<br />Topic: Brown Bears<br />Bonus!Although bears are considered nocturnal animals, they often eat during daytime hours. Salmon jump out of the river to lay eggs. Fish eggs are found in many parts of the river. Some fish eat plants located at the bottom of the river.<br />Pick out your own animal from the List of Animals and write a paragraph of your own. <br />REMEMBER; a paragraph is a group of sentences about 1 topic.<br />Topic:<br />
