  • 3. What we’ll cover today
    Why are we here today?
ASHA’s dilemma and need for change
Steps ASHA took to plan their redesign, governance, and training
    Key elements for ASHA’s success
    Show and tell
    How we know it’s working
  • 4. Key Elements for ASHA’s Success
    Collaboration
    Community
    Policy
    Fun
Intranet Manager (a.k.a. evangelist, a.k.a. strategist, a.k.a. “normal talker,” a.k.a. friend)
  • 5. Intranet Manager:
“I used to work at a place that used SharePoint. At the time I thought SharePoint was a waste of time – it seemed like it was lacking too many features. Now I know the main thing we were lacking was someone like Kat.”
Without a dedicated intranet manager, you run the risk of cutting out essential communication with staff. They won’t have someone to help them learn the value of the intranet and all that it can offer them.
  • 6. Video: A time-saver for all
  • 7. Video Success
HR now uses “Welcome to ASHAnet” for all new hire orientations
Saves precious staff time (for the Intanet Manager and the end users alike)
Positive Feedback after we launched the video:
“Yay--thanks. 13 minutes is about as far as my attention span goes so this will be great!”
“How very coooooool! This is the perfect medium for getting just-in-time info out on training topics! I love it.”
“Great idea, Kat. Thanks for covering us lazy people.”

Increased requests for using the intranet to manage critical business processes
No longer “should this go on the intranet?” but “this MUST go on the intranet”
E-mails of praise and thanks from staff who now feel empowered and involved
Hearing people refer to the intranet by name (“ASHAnet”) more than ever before
