  2. 2. What is medical research?<br />Is the basic research, applied research, or translational research conducted to aid and support the body of knowledge in the field of medicine.<br />
  3. 3. Medical research can be divided into two general categories<br />The evaluation of new treatments for both safety and efficacy in what are termed clinical trials.<br />And all other research that contributes to the development of new treatments. <br />
  4. 4. The medical research is also call preclinical research, and its goal is specifically to elaborate knowledge for the development of new therapeutic strategies.<br />
  5. 5. The increased longevity of humans over the past century can be significantly attributed to advances resulting from medical research. <br />
  6. 6. Benefits of the medical research<br />Vaccines for the polio, insulin treatment for diabetes, classes of antibiotics for treating a host of maladies, medication for high blood pressure, improved treatments for AIDS, stains and other treatments for atherosclerosis, new surgical techniques such as microsurgery, and increasingly successful treatments for cancer. <br />

  8. 8. What is the medical tourism?<br />The Medical tourism refers to the practice of a patient going for healthcare services to an area outside of his or her home country.<br />
  9. 9. But this practice has its Advantages and Disadvantages<br />

Advantages<br />The first and most outstanding advantage of medical tourism is one that has to do with the relationship between cost and quality.<br />Also enjoy the attractions that a country can offer, many times the medical costs are much lower than in the country of origin of the visitor.<br />
  11. 11. Disanvatages<br />Going to foreign country for medical treatment has its own risks as the country you go to may not regulate professional licensing and certification of the medical professionals.<br />Or if something goes wrong during the medical procedure you will have very little legal recourse.<br />
