  • 2. Gudi Padwa• Gudi Padwa refers to Maharashtrian New Year.• People start new activities on this day.• They decorate their houses with gudis and torans.• Puja is performed to the Gudi.
  • 3. Parsi New Year(Navroz)• It is commonly known as Navroz• Parsis worship the sacred fire in their fire temple known as Agiari• They wear their traditional costumes on this day
  • 4. Ramzan Eid• It is also known as Eid-ul-Fitr.• Muslims fast for the month of Ramadan.• They offer prayers(Namaaz)at the Mosque.• They prepare a special dish known as Sewiyan & share amongst their friends & relatives.
  • 5. Dassara• It is also known as Vijay Dashami.• On this day Lord Rama defeated Ravana & killed him.• Houses are decorated with torans.• Crackers are also burnt signifying Ravan Dehan• During Navratri Dandiya Ras is performed
  • 6. Diwali• It is also known as Deepavali ; a festival of lights.• New clothes are worn and crackers are lit.• Houses are decorated with Diyas & Rangolis.• Laxmi Poojan is performed.• Sweets and savouries are made & offered to Goddess Laxmi
  • 7. • Guru Nanak founded the Sikh religion• His birth anniversary is celebrated with great joy every year• Greetings are exchanged amongst relatives• Procession is carried out to mark the celebration.
