There is a fundamental problem when Ubaya aren’t held drawing test for intake students in DMP, while the other side DMP is a program of study that most of the activity is drawing. With backgrounds that are less measurable student qualifications for the intake of high school who did not make drawing skills as a measure of intelligence, graduates, DMP must hold a matriculation class to improve drawing skills. However, this does not guarantee the results of the matriculation students to produce a standard product design skills. Drawing is a coordinate intelligence between the eyes, logic, motor hand and taste. Only with long exercise, that four element can be coordinated and produce decent work. In other words, drew flight hours is very important to produce a quality works.
The problem finding that autor found are the absence of a fixed rule about learning the basic concepts of drawing in DMP Ubaya. The need for material mapping images of the product design in order to obtain the most appropriate on basis of product design, due to during this the material created is still a way to follow what the material was applied to higher education. And the last is how to implement these materials into the teaching of media demo reel.
The study will use the method of exposure of descriptive literature and comparative studies. Visits to the established design college, elementary, junior high school, vocational and companies associated with learning to draw, to obtain data on the method of drawing. Studying the data based on visual intelligence theory as a basis for the ability to be owned by the prospective designers. Comparing with the learning methods that have been conducted in DMP Ubaya. Applying such content as syllabus content and demo reel.

20. Suggestion
There are several plans are disclosed in the proposal but the process can not
be implemented, including:
1. The visit has not been done, art and design tutor (Villa Merah branch in
Jakarta and Bandung), a company associated with learning to draw (Dedato,
Honda R & D Southeast Asia)
2. Limitations of demo reel media references. Lack of video demo reel source
quality (AVI format, MPEG) and price also.
3. It should also discusses the preparation process to make demo reel, such
as collecting data of artists or designers who have the skills, preparation of
drawing media equipment (paper, coloring tools, drawing table, Wacom tablet,
etc.), preparation process of production (recording equipment, pre until post-
production crew )
Propose a new research title is "Making Instructional Media Demo Reel
Drawing Process and Product Design Rendering, For Supporting Basic
Drawing 1-2”
“ menggambar sketsa dengan cara freehand sangatlah diperlukan bagi mahasiswa dan seseorang yang memang bekerja atau dalam beraktifitasnya syarat dengan bahasa visual, terutama bagi mereka yang berprofesi sebagai desainer ” (Tesis Amirul Nefo, 2004
Tujuan penelitian : Untuk mengetahui kaidah dasar tentang pembelajaran gambar bentuk sebagai dasar kemampuan desain produk. Untuk mengetahui materi- materi perkuliahan gambar bentuk yang sesuai dengan standar kemampuan desain produk. Sebagai penelitian awal dan pendukung proses pembuatan media ajar demo reel proses menggambar. Manfaat Penelitian Dengan penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi bagi peningkatan kemampuan mahasiswa terutama kemampuan menggambar produk secara mandiri dan terstruktur.
1. Kunjungan ke perguruan tinggi Univ desain, SMP & SMU , perusahaan yang berhubungan dengan pembelajaran menggambar 2. Mengkaji data-data tersebut berdasarkan teori kecerdasan visual sebagai dasar kemampuan yang harus dimiliki oleh calon desainer dan desainer 3. Membandingkan dengan metode pembelajaran yang telah dilaksanakan di Jurusan Desain dan Manajemen Produk Universitas Surabaya DMP Ubaya . 4. Mendapatkan konten-konten perkuliahan yang sesuai antara yang sudah didapatkan sebelum kuliah dan yang harus dikuasai sebagai dasar pendidikan desain . 5. Menerapkan konten-konten tersebut sebagai konten silabus dan demo reel .
Namun, bukan berarti penelitian ini tidak mengalami kendala. Ada beberapa rencana yang diungkap pada proposal namun pada prosesnya tidak dapat dilaksanakan, diantaranya : 1. Kunjungan yang belum terlaksana bimbingan belajar seni rupa dan desain (Villa Merah cabang Jakarta dan Bandung), perusahaan yang berhubungan dengan pembelajaran menggambar (Dedato, Honda R&D Southeast Asia) untuk mendapatkan data mengenai metode menggambar. Dalam hal ini, karena keterbatasan anggaran, lokasi penelitian di Jakarta penulis berharap dapat dilaksanakan pada penelitian lanjutan berikutnya. 2. Keterbatasan referensi media ajar demo reel . Kurangnya sumber video demo reel yang berkualitas (format AVI, MPEG) dan mahalnya harga menjadi kendala. 3. Seharusnya cakupan penilitian juga membahas proses persiapan pembuatan demo reel , seperti mengumpulkan data seniman atau desainer yang memiliki skill, persiapan peralatan media gambar (kertas, alat pewarna, meja gambar, wacom tablet, dll) pendataan terhadap persiapan proses produksi (alat rekam, kru pra hingga paska produksi) Sehingga secara keseluruhan penulis dapat menyimpulkan, penelitian ini telah menghasilkan point-point penting pengembangan kurikulum kuliah Gambar Bentuk 1-2, namun penelitian awal ini membutuhkan kelanjutan untuk melaksanakan hasil yang telah didapat. Sehingga penulis akan mengajukan judul penelitian baru yaitu “Pembuatan Media Ajar Demo Reel Proses Menggambar dan Rendering Desain Produk, Untuk Menunjang Kuliah Gambar Bentuk 1-2”
