    • Innovtion is commonly described as ‘the commerically successful exploitation of ideas.’
    • Innovation is creating value to the existing entreprise that enables it to sustain for a longer time.
    • Innovation distingushes between a leader and a follower.
    • Heightened global competition is forcing government and companies to find new ways to increase productivity and this is creating renewed interest in the need to innovate.
    • It is art of making new connections, and continously challenging the status quo – without changing things just for the sake of change.

    • There are two types of innovation Incremental and Radical.
    • India Inc. lists innovation among top three strategic priorities.
    • 89% of senior executives believe that innovation is key for growth 7% of them say it is somewhat important and rest 4% do not believe to innovate.

    • It has been difficult for organizations to make priorities and investments that balance short – term needs with long term opportunities.
    • ‘ It is the way we do things around here’ that is, the ability to think beyond the current mindset and culture and lack of people with the right talent.
    • The biggest draw back is the gap between creating an innovation strategy and managing innovation as a business process.
