Everyone is Different

Once upon a time there was a boy named Jordon who got the chance to live in a few different homes. All of these homes were different and all of the families were different. He began to notice that there were all kinds of moms, there were different kinds of Dads and different kinds of Kids.

He learned that Moms are all different. Some moms are tense, some are get stressed easily, some moms are calm and some moms are way too chilled out. Every mom handles things different.

He also has learned that some kids are different ! Some kids say. “Yes” and some kids say, “No”. Some kids like rules and some kids do not.

The way we are depends on our genes and our experiences. Sometimes… when you have a kid that says No and has one type of personality and a Mom that insists on Yes and has a different type of personality, there is a problem.

Our life experiences determine who we are and this is very difficult to change.

No One is at fault.

Even when a mother and a child’s personality don’t match, they will love each other. A mother will always love her child and a child will always love their mother. That is just the way it was meant to be.

Jordon began to realize that sometimes when the child and the adult don’t match there is a lot of fighting and arguing.

He also began to realize that he had a mom that needed to have things just right. She knew that to be a good mom, she needed to make sure that her children were dressed for the day, went to bed on time so they could think in school and grow properly and eat breakfast in the morning. She knew that if her children did not wear their coat they would be cold. Jordon’s mom could not stand to think that her child would be cold because she loved him so much.

Jordon did not always agree that he needed to do some of things that his mother wanted and expected. Sometimes he was so positive that he would not be cold if he did not wear his coat. Sometimes he was positive that he was not hungry when it was breakfast and sometimes… he got a little bit nervous when his mother turned off the lights and said good night. When this happened, he really did not want to go to sleep. Jordon saw things differently than his mother.

Jordon and his mother began to notice that when they would see each other, they would battle over some of these things. Jordon began to wonder why his mother was so serious all the time and wished that she would just “chill”. Jordon’s mother would wonder why her child would not listen to things that she knew were best for him.

This went on for a long long time and eventually Jordon became angry and his mom became angry. The harder she tried, the harder Jordon tried. But…. Jordon was one kind of kid and his mother was a certain kind of mom. They had a hard time making it work.

Everyone tried to help but no one could seem to make it better.

Jordon’s mom thought and thought about how to fix the problem. Then… she decided to do a brave thing.

She decided that it was more important love her son and have happy times together than to fight with him.
