When you decide to join a network marketing company, one of the first things you’ll need to learn is how to generate leads for your business.
You can’t build a team without having MLM leads to prospect and recruit into your business opportunity, so lead generation is pretty much the first thing you need to learn.
Learn How to Generate Leads in a Variety of Ways
Why? Network marketing has been seen as a “pyramid scheme” by a lot of people who just don’t understand the business of multilevel marketing. So for different types of markets and different types of people, you may actually need a virtual arsenal of techniques when you’re learning how to generate leads.
And obviously, the more successful you are at building up a cache of prospects, the more successful you’ll probably be at building your team and eventually helping your team build their downline.
There are a couple of good reasons you’ll want to start a solid lead generation campaign, and learn how to generate leads successfully, if not easily.
1. The “Warm” Market. These are your family and friends. If this your very first MLM venture, you might not have “worn out your welcome” yet with your friends and family. So you might be able to talk to them about the venture you’re in.
But if you’ve kind of been hopping around from one “biz op” to the next, you might not even have a warm market left. But if you learn how to generate new leads from an other wise “cold” market, you won’t need your warm market anyway – well, unless you start doing so well with your business that your warm market starts chasing you down for information!
2. Helping your team. Once the people who you’ve recruited realize that you didn’t have to do anything drastic to recruit them, they may see it as an easy way for them to recruit other people into their teams.
So for example, if you can teach your team members how to generate leads without having to approach their warm market or without speaking in front of an audience, or without speaking to anyone at all in the beginning, you may start generating more leads and even build a really successful downline.
