  • 1. Breakfast Biscuits with Ham
  • 2. Ingredients
    ¼ oz. dry yeast
    ½ cup warm water
    2 cups buttermilk
    5 ½ cups flour
    ¼ cup sugar
    1 ½ tbsp. baking powder
    1 ½ tsp. salt
    ½ tsp. baking soda
    ¾ cup shortening
    2 pounds sliced ham
  • 3. Combine yeast and water, let stand for 5 minutes.
  • 4. Stir in buttermilk.
  • 5. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and baking soda in a large bowl.
  • 6. Cut in shortening with 2 forks until mixture resembles coarse meal.
