      • I want my students to understand:
      • Content Specific: The South Bronx is full of different cultures that share similarities and differences.
      • Global Statement: Different cultures make up the world we live in and the cultural differences and similarities lead to the survival of any species (Taba, 1971).
    3. USNCSS Standard: Global Connections: Technology
      • I want my students to understand:
      • Content Specific: The South Bronx stays in touch with many different countries by using technology such as telephones and computer
      • Global Statement: Technologies make it possible for people across the Earth to stay in touch and share traditions
    4. Emerging Questions
      • What different cultures do you see in your neighborhood?
      • How do these cultures interact?
      • How do these cultures help each other or hinder each other?
      • What different traditions do different cultures have?
      • Are there similarities between traditions?
      • How are these traditions passed on?
      • Where do you find different cultures?
      • How do countries stay in touch around the world?
      • How do you think communication between cultures is going to change?
