  • How to Use
  • Open your browser.
  • Then, type
  • Click ‘Free Download’ to download Jing.
  • Then click either Windows or Mac.
  • Click Save File.
  • Wait until downloading is finished.
  • Then, click this twice.
  • Click Run.
  • Click on OK.
  • Click box saying you have read and accept license terms.
  • Then, click on Install.
  • Wait for a few minutes for the installation..
  • Click Finish.
  • Click OK.
  • Click Run.
  • Click on the box.
  • Click Install.
  • Click Finish.
  • Tada! Here it is! 
  • To sign up, type your email.
  • Type the name you want to be displayed.
  • Type your password.Type password.
  • Select what country you are from.Click arrow down to choose country.
  • Then, click Create. You may click the box.
  • You may click the box.
  • See the half round object on top of the desktop?
  • That is Jing.
  • You can drag it here.
  • Or here…It sticks anywhere.
  • Even here…(Amazing, right?)
  • The following are the three icons..
  • The first is the Capture icon.
  • The second is History.
  • The third one is More.
  • How to capture an image in Jing
  • Go to the page where you are taking an image.
  • Mouse-over the sun and three little rays appear.
  • Click Capture.
  • When the cross hairs appear, left click the mouse.
  • And drag to a certain point.
  • Right click the mouse to cancel selecting a region.
  • Decide if you want to capture an image or video.
  • For this first capture, click the Image button
  • Write the description of the picture here.
  • You could save the capture to your computer.
  • Do something with your finished capture.
  • To write an arrow, click on the arrow.
  • Click your mouse and drag to draw an arrow.
  • To insert text, click on the T icon.
  • Again click mouse and drag to make a box.
  • Then, write text inside the box.
  • You can also use highlight icon.
  • Click mouse and drag to highlight.
  • You can also use tool color.
  • Say you choose blue color.
  • Click mouse and drag, then…tada!
  • Click on Text icon.
  • Click and drag the cursor.
  • Click on the box icon.
  • Click and drag the cursor…
  • Click the highlight icon again.
  • Click and drag again.
  • How to undo or redo
  • For example you drew an arrow…
  • Click here.
  • Tada! The arrow is gone. 
  • Sign in to
  • Go to your browser
  • Type
  • Type your email here.
  • Type your password.
  • Re-type password.
  • Type the name you want to be displayed.
  • Choose the country where you are from.
  • Check here if necessary.
  • Then, click sign up.
  • How to share via
  • Click the Share via icon.
  • This appears after that.
  • Tada! It’s uploaded in the!
  • To obtain embed code from
  • First you must create a new button.
  • Click More.
  • Click Preferences.
  • Customize Jing Buttons...
  • Click New.
  • Make sure the output is selected.
  • Enter a good description here. It might be Embed.
  • Choose Embed Code from the Clipboard contents drop down menu.
  • Select the folder where your content will be stored.
  • Optional: Allow viewers to comment on your content on
  • Click Save.
  • New button appears on the right of other Jing Buttons.
  • You can click this and drag to another place.
  • Close the Custom Jing Buttons dialogue box.
  • Then, click Finish.
  • How to save in the computer
  • After capturing the image, click the save icon.
  • Type the name of the image.
  • Click Save.
  • This is what will appear after saving.
  • Then click Close.
  • …Or open the file
  • Tada!
  • How to copy the image
  • After capturing the image, click the Copy icon.
  • This appears after that.
  • Example in the Microsoft Word after pasting here.
  • How to cancel
  • Click on cancel icon.
  • How to customize
  • Click the Customize Jing Buttons icon.
  • Click New.
  • Edit Share via
  • You may change this to Screencast. (Optional)
  • Change screencast account
  • You can share folder clicking this.
  • You may allow commenting by checking this.
  • And allow to be notified by clicking this.
  • Then, click save.
  • Or cancel if you change your mind.
  • You may also share it through Youtube. m
  • The use of the trash can icon
  • You may drag the icons here to delete them.
  • See? Click, drag and release.
  • How to use snaggit
  • Click on Try Snaggit.
  • Click either of the two to download.
  • Say you click this…
  • Click Save File.
  • Wait until downloading is finished.
  • When it’s done…double (left) click it.
  • Click Run.
  • Click Run.
  • Click Next.
  • Click Next.
  • Click Next.
  • Click Next.
  • Click Next.
  • Click Install.
  • Click Yes.
  • Wait until its finished.
  • Click Finish.
  • Click Continue Trial.

  • How to capture video on Jing.
  • You can narrate while taking the video.
  • Videos are limited to 5 minutes in length.
  • Go to where you would like to take a video.
  • Mouse over the sun
  • Click on the Capture icon.
  • Select your entire desktop, window, or custom area.
  • Click the Capture Video button.
  • Jing will ask which audio device you'd like to use.
  • For example, many laptops have a built-in internal microphone.
  • There is a 3-second countdown before you're on!
  • Yellow filmstrip-like bands start scrolling to indicate recording’s progress.
  • Click Pause button to gather your thoughts.
  • Click Restart button if you want to start recording over.
  • Click Cancel if you don’t want to continue the video.
  • Click Mute if you want no more sounds.
  • Click Finish to conclude recording.
  • The highlighted part determines date/time the video was taken.
  • This tells you how many hours/minutes were spent.
  • Click on Save icon.
  • Type the name of the video here
  • You may click Share via
  • You may cancel saving the video by clicking this.
  • You may also customize Jing buttons.
  • You may edit the video using Camtasia Studio.
  • After the video is done…click here.
  • Click Try Camtasia Studio.
  • How to use History
  • You can sort by Date (most recent captures at the top),
  • and Size (largest files at the top).
  • You can also sort within images.
  • And videos…
  • To open, Click View icon (or double-click the thumbnail)
  • Tada! Here it is!
  • Click Share icon to re- copy the image/video's link.
  • Then, you can paste this to your clipboard.
  • Click Delete icon to delete your capture from the History
  • and its stored location. In this case, click delete.
  • To Capture Hotkey
  • To set up your Capture Hotkey:
  • Click More.
  • Click Preferences.
  • Click the Hotkey field.
  • Enter an easy-to-remember key combination like <Alt + J>.
  • This drop down menu was captured by hotkey.
  • On Macintosh, the default capture hotkey is <Command + Shift + 1>
  • You may also customize Jing buttons.
  • To create a flicker button…
  • Click More.
  • Click Preferences.
  • Click Customize Jing Buttons.
  • Click New.
  • Click the Flickr icon.
  • Optional: Change the Button description (name).
  • Click the Authorize button.
  • Click Start (Authorization).
  • Enter your Yahoo! ID and password.
  • Click Next.
  • Click here.
  • Then, it says…
  • Return to Jing, and click Finish.
  • You can choose send your images to a particular set.
  • If there’s no set, Jing will create it on Flickr.
  • To share these with anyone (public), check those boxes.
  • To share to your friends and family.
  • Select whether Flickr button return link to video/embed code.
  • Click Save after you decide on the clipboard contents..
  • Then, close.
  • To create a Facebook button:
  • Click More.
  • Click Preferences.
  • Click Customize buttons.
  • Click here.
  • Click Facebook icon.
  • Change the Facebook description name in the textbox. (Optional)
  • Click Start Authorization.
  • Click Log-in.
  • Click Log in with facebook.
  • Click allow.
  • Click Save.
  • Close the Customize Jing Button dialog.
  • To post to Facebook with Jing:
  • Capture an image or record a video.
  • Click Facebook icon.
  • Type description name on the box.
  • Click Share.
  • Click Close.
  • Go to your facebook and…
  • Tada!
  • How to Create an FTP Button:
  • Click More.
  • Then, click on Preferences
  • Click Customize Buttons.
  • Click here.
  • Then, click FTP icon.
  • Optional: Change the Button description (name).
  • Enter the server address.
  • Choose either FTP or SFTP.
  • Then enter port number (21 for FTP, 22 for SFTP).
  • Type the directory (optional).
  • Type the username.
  • Type the password.
  • Be sure to click Test Settings button to verify settings.
  • Choose Custom Code from the Clipboard contents drop down menu.
  • … if you like Jing provide a link or specialized code.
  • Click Save.
  • How to create Twitter button
  • Click More.
  • Then, click on Preferences.
  • Click Customize Buttons
  • Click New.
  • Then, click Twitter icon.
  • Click Get Twitter Pin.
  • Click Authorize app.
  • Copy the PIN to your clipboard.
  • Return to Jing, and paste your PIN here.
  • Click Authorize.
  • Click Save.
  • See? It says changes saved.
  • To tweet with Jing:
  • Capture an image or record a video.
  • Click the Twitter button.
  • Start typing your tweet.
  • Click Tweet.
  • Then, click Close.
  • Tada! Look at your twitter account.
  • Want to copy an image from your screen?
  • The Copy button only appears in the Jing Image Preview Window.
  • You cannot copy videos.
  • After capturing an image, click Copy icon.
  • Then, this appears after that.
  • You might want to paste this to another application like MS word.
  • How to change its description name
  • Click More.
  • Click Preferences.
  • Click Customize Jing Buttons.
  • Click the existing Copy button
  • Write the new description name on the box.
  • Click Save.
  • Here’s what will appear next. It says ‘Changes saved’
  • To create a Save button…
  • Click More
  • Click Preferences.
  • Click Customize Jing Buttons.
  • Click New.
  • Scroll to the right to find the save icon.
  • Click Save icon.
  • Give the button a description.
  • For example, write "Save to Desktop".
  • To save to a specific location, click the drop down…
  • and select Other... instead of Always prompt me.
  • When you're in the right location, Select and click OK.
  • Click Save.
  • Then click Finish.
  • To close or quit Jing:
  • Click More.
  • Click Exit Jing icon.
  • Click here if you want to exit Jing.
