<ul><li>The Águila's history begins in 1905, the year that the people of Barranquilla first try a beer brewed in his own hometown. Some businessmen had implemented the idea of starting a brewery and the brewery gave life to the firm Bolívar the Walters Brewing and Ice Making. This had the signature of some people of Cartagena. </li></ul>
<ul><li>One year after the outbreak of World War I, Barranquilla, which was already by then the provincial capital of the Atlantic, has its second brewery, Barranquilla Brewery, founded on April 10, 1913 with a capital of 159 000 Pesos (American Gold) and located on the shores of the "caño de arriba" that leads from downtown to the river Magdalena. The owners relied on their success and as documents of the period the company produced 6000 liters of beer daily. Cervecería Barranquilla gave the city 20,000 pounds of ice for daily consumption and its brands were: Águila, Escudo, San Nicolas and Gallo Giro. </li></ul>
<ul><li>In March 1967, the company name was changed to Águila Brewery SA, because their product was the best-selling beer in addition to the company was made famous Nutrimalta and the Sifones. </li></ul>
