Ease with challenges Working with tools after graduating? Who picks tools; instructor or learner? Do we use same tools for different tasks Keep systems simple Centralizing not on tools but protocols Technology challenges practices Right to be behind the garden wall Writing has consequence, engagement in open web Learning safety should be less dangerous/ scary than learning web 2.0 alone Lag between real world technology and institutional technology: is genuine authentic engagement to tasks impossible? Educational technology research application is rather poor LMS as organizational technologies? Should university be a safe place? Learning is scary Digital taxidermists? Acknowledge diversity of tools LMS for supporting rendezvous in other systems LMS: split LM and MS Teach them to swim do not ban everything!
