  • Extreme Long Shot This can be taken from as much as a quarter of a mile away, and is generally used as a scene-setting, establishing shot.
  • Long Shot It normally shows an exterior, eg the outside of a building, or a landscape.
  • This shows very little background, and concentrates on either a face, or a specific detail of mise en scène. Everything else is just a blur in the background. The closest distance the lens may be to the subject while maintaining clear focus.

  • Birds Eye View A bird's-eye view is an image gained when the position of the observer is significantly higher than that of the subject.
  • Worms Eye-view A view of an object from below, as though the observers a worm.
  • Background Snapshot Part or element of scene that is behind -- i.e. more distant from the observer than -- the foreground. 2/3 of the picture is the background focus    
  • Framing Shot Is an object that acts as a border or frame for your subject.
  •   Textured Shot Detail: The detail in the surface of the object being photographed is the most important feature of an image.
  • Drama: The texture is utilized to add drama to an image
  • Information: Utilizing texture to communicate information about a photographic subject
  • Is the amount of distance between the nearest and farthest objects that appear in acceptably sharp focus in a photograph.
  • High Angle shot The camera looks down, making the subject look vulnerable or insignificant.
  • Low Angle Shot The camera points upwards, usually making the subject or setting seem grand or threatening.
