- About Barend Köbben holds an MSc in Geography, specialising in Cartography, from Utrecht University in The Netherlands. He works at the ITC – University of Twente, Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation since 1997. Here he is at present Senior Lecturer in GIS and cartographic visualisation in the Department of Geo-Information Processing (GIP). His teaching subjects include Geowebservices, WebGIS and WebCartography, 3D visualisation and web application building. Furthermore, supervision of PM Case Study and Final Assignments and MSc thesis work. Barend participates within the research activities of two Research Themes: Spatial Data Infrastructure Technology (SDI-T) and
