I’ll be talking about squeezing more power out of your CI server.

There are two basic concepts here: first, there is automation. We need to automate to be able to create a pipeline.
And then there’s feedback. Feedback is good. It is why we write tests and talk to stakeholders. And fast feedback is better than slow feedback.But do you get enough rapid feedback from your CI server?
Compile, coverage, tests etc. A lot of unused potential here.

After all, what is the difference between a developer triggering an automated deploy and somebody else doing?
Perhaps you can make all steps automatic, after a lot of automation and testing.
. But should you? Is your software, customers, stakeholders and developers ready for it? They have to be made ready along with your pipeline. And thus a pipeline is a tool for developing your organisation too.
Seek to eliminate all that you can.
And you need to have everybody with you on it. Nothing is for free. Hard work is the only key.
