  • Course Shellsfor PNC Faculty
  • Why have we created these ‘starter’ shells?  Smoother transition to Learn  Great for LTLs  To promote campus-wide consistency
  • What are available to you?  Basic  Hybrid 1  Hybrid 2  Fully Online
  • Basic: Instructor View
  • Basic: Student View
  • Hybrid 1(same as basic, but with folders added)
  • Hybrid 2(same as basic, but with modules added)
  • Online(modules have been set up)
  • Custom Banners
  • How do you request a shell? Enter MY PNC Portal, select eHelpdesk Submit a help ticket Specify the shell(s) that you want and the course(s) that you want it applied to within the text entry box
  • Select “Blackboard” Select “Erin White” Enter that Leave you’re everything requesting a on this side shell as is Specify semester,course name, number, and section Click to save changes
  • Download banners from S: drive Click on ‘Learning & Technology’ ‘BB Learn Banners’ Save to your computer and then follow p.7 in “Getting Started” (green) packet to upload to a Learn course.“Getting Started” packet located at:http://www.pnc.edu/distance/Blackboardlearnarchive.html
  • Customization  You can always customize your look and feel ○ Menu ○ Color/style ‘themes’  Simply click on ‘Customization’, then ‘Teaching Style’ within Learn
  • Please allow 2-3 working days for shells to be applied to your spring courses.For additional information regarding course shells orbanners, contact Erin White at ewhite00@pnc.edu
