    3. What is a Voki? • A voki is a talking avatar/cartoon of oneself. • Allows someone to communicate with voice but through an animated character, which they create. • Example: http://phsespanoldos.pbworks.com/
    4. How can I use Voki? • Short speaking assessment • Spice up a blog, web page or wiki. • Communicate with students outside of the classroom.
    5. • Practicing and listening to speech • Alternative assessment…. (Example: Students can create an avatar that resembles a character from a story, add a setting and give it speech.) • Other ideas?
    6. How do I create a Voki? 1. Create your own Voki account at www.voki.com. a.) Register (top right). b.) Fill in the required information. c.)You need an email account to confirm your registration. An activation email will be sent to the email address used.
    7. 2. Login to the Voki site . 3. Create a new Voki. * Customize your character. * Give it a Voice. * Choose a Background. * Pick a Player color. * Publish it to email or get code to put it on a website, wiki or blog.

    10. What is it? A Podcast is an audio recording, similar to a radio program, that is made available on the Internet to listen to or download to a personal audio player.

    16. How do I create it?  Create channel to house the individual recordings/episodes. - Can make a channel for each class that you teach, subject matter, etc.
    17. How do I create it?  Record episodes through cell phone. 1. Dial in via access phone number listed on website. 2. Enter channel # (gabcast) / phone # (phonecasting) 3. Enter password 4. Record 5. Save and Publish
    18. How do students access it? • Can give students web address for gabcast or phonecasting. • Can put podcast on Itunes – Need to copy the xml link and paste it into itunes. • Can embed the podcast in a web page, pbwiki page, etc.
