  • Kayla, there are plenty of Shawver's out there who are from the Sebastian Shawver clan. You needn't worry about the Shawver name, it is well and good in our area. There is another Kayla Shawver in Jacksonville, FL, she is my Great Niece and a great kid. I live in Parkersburg, WV and we are of the James Shawver line. Sebastain Shawver gave him 500 acres near Sutton WV to start his family. It was part of the original Plantation from Roanoke WV. Have a great day!

  3. 3. SWITZERLAND 1400<br />The Shawver family tree traces back 20 generations all the way to the year 1400 to:<br />-Heini Landis who was born in Switzerland.<br />
  4. 4. GERMANY 1560<br />160 years after the family was started in 1400, George Shawver and his wife Barbara Schweizer live in Sielmengen, Schwarzwald, Wuerttemberg, Germany. They one son by the name of Sebastian Shawver on September 9, 1589 in Evangelish, Heibronn, Germany. <br />
  5. 5. ENGLAND 1624<br />John Houghton was born December 24,1624 in Eaton Bray, Bedforshire, England. He married Beatrice Waiker in Elland, Yorkshire, England. During their life together they moved to Lancaster, Worcester, Massachusetts where they had one daughter named Mary Wheeler Houghton on November 4, 1653.<br />
  6. 6. AMERICA 1653 <br />John Houghton moved his family to Lancaster, Worcester, Massachusetts in. Generations after generations moved all around the east coast, from Massachusetts to Pennsylvania to Maryland and New York. In 1814 John Shawver was born in Jefferson City Ohio. The family stayed in Ohio all they way until 1920, when my great grandfather Dewey Shawver moved to Indiana.<br />
  7. 7. John Shawver 1814<br />John was born on March 21,1814 in Jefferson co. Ohio. He was a coal digger in Goshen Ohio when he was a young man. On January 4,1836 he marries Sarah Landis. Sara was born in 1818 and was the daughter of Henry and Catherine Eiman from West Virginia. Her father was in charge of the coal workers from West Virginia. They met in Goshen Ohio. Unfortunately, Sarah died giving birth to John Henry on September 22,1836. John married Katie Shearer in 1840 and she had six children. John died on November 4,1882 in Newberry, Miami Co. Ohio.<br />
  8. 8. STEVEN SHAWVER 1871<br />Steven was born May 12, 1871 in Emerald Township, Paulding County, Ohio and lived on several farms. He married Emma Boiler February 23,1893.   9. 9. Dewey Shawver 1899<br />My great-grandfather Marion Dewey was born June 22, 1899 in Emerald twp. Paulding Co. Ohio. He married Mary Tenney on September 1, 1921. Mary gave birth to my grandfather Vernon Shawver in 1922. Dewey and Mary lived happily together for over 70 years! My great-grandfather died 5 days after my 3rd birthday on May 10,1994. Mary died 7 years after on September 23, 2001.<br />
  10. 10. My Grandparents<br />My grandfather Vernon Dale Shawver married Doralee Smith on November 7, 1954 in Pasadena, California. They gave birth to my father Donald Shawver on December 19, 1955, and my aunt Debra Shawver on May 1, 1957. My grandparents have been married for 56 years and still going strong!<br />
  11. 11. My Parents<br />My dad Donald Shawver married my mother Janet Schumacher on July 7, 1986. Soon after they were married they gave birth to my sister Lindsay Shawver on January 24, 1988. I was born May 5, 1991.<br />
  12. 12. KAYLA SHAWVER<br />Unfortunately, the Shawver family name will come to a stop. I am the last of the Shawvers’, there are no more boys to carry on the name. My grandmother says it is ok because we have done good!<br />
