National Certificate IV in CONCEPT CBT&A in TVET OVERVIEW CONCEPT DESCRIPTIONThe National Certificate IV in Competency-Based Training & Assessment (CBT&A) inTechnical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) is a competency based nationallyrecognized certificate for present and future TVET trainers and assessors. Under theNational Skills Development Policy, certified trainers and assessors are required in alltraining institutions in Bangladesh. The Certificate IV in CBT&A in TVET is the recognizedqualification for trainers and assessors. The certificate includes twelve units of competency from a range of learning fields,including learning environment and learning design. Individual units of competency or European Uniongroups of units can also be pursued. This will result in the issuing of a Statement ofAttainment by BTEB and the ability to work in a role such as a registered CBT Assessor.The certificate is expected to take 430 nominal training hours (150 hours off-the-job + 280hours on-the-job). This is only indicative however; trainees may take more or less time toreach competency depending on their experience. Trainees must be certified in trade ortechnical areas at one level above the training that is to be delivered and/or assessed.
