Forces1

 1. 1. Motion

• When an object changes position over time in comparison to a reference point.

 2. 2. Reference Point

• A point from which motion can be determined.

 3. 3. Frame of reference

A viewpoint or perspective in which motion occurs; can be different from others because it is based on your position.

 4. 4. Speed

The distance an object travels due to force over time.

(A rate used to explain motion)

Speed = distance / time
 5. 5. Force

• A push or pull on an object.

 6. 6. Balanced Forces

Forces equal and opposite of each other resulting in zero net force.

(*No change in Motion)

 7. 7. Unbalanced Forces

Are unequal forces resulting in a change in speed and/or direction of motion.

(*Results in a Net Force)
