      • Once the determination of what types of jobs and how many nos. of jobs are to be filled up with what qualification, the next step is to hire the right people in right number for jobs.
      • And such hiring involves three group of activities i.e
      • Recruitment
      • Selection
      • Placement
    • Recruitment:-
      • It is the first step in process of filling a vacancy. Recruitment is the generating of applications or applicants for specific persons to be filled up in organisation.
      • It is the process of searching for and obtaining applicants for jobs that right people in the right no. can be selected.
    • Features of recruitment:-
      • Recruitment is a positive function
      • It is a linking activity to bring together those with the jobs and those seeking the jobs.
      • It is a process or series of activities rather than the event
      • It is a pervasive function as all organisations engage in recruiting activity.
    • Purpose of recruitment:-
      • To identify and prepare potential job applicants.
      • To increase the pool of job candidates at the minimum cost
      • To reduce the no. of under qualified and over qualified job applicants.
