The maximum pressure ratio and maximum temperature of the cycle are limited to 7bar and 1100 K respectively. The isometric efficiencies of compressor and turbine are 84% and 85% respectively. The effectiveness of the regenerator is 0.6. Assuming the combustion efficiency 90% and neglecting the heat and pressure losses in the system, find the cycle efficiency and A:F ratio used. If the air flow is 10 kg/sec, find the generation capacity of the plant assuming mechanical efficiency 96% and generation efficiency 95%. b) What are the relative merits and demerits of using air or O2 in a gasification plant when the gasification plant is integrated with closed cycle gas turbine. 5. a) What are the functions of surge tank and fore bay?
