    • Step 1 • Go to Virginia Wizard’s homepage • www.virginiawizard.orgWelcome to the Virginia Education WizardLet the Wizard help you choose a career, get the information youneed to pursue your career, find the college that is right for you,pay for college, transfer from a community college to auniversity, and get answers to your questions about your future.
    • Step 2• Create an account by clicking “Create an Account”• Create a User Name• Be sure to follow the requirements when setting up your password• Use your student email address
    • Step 3• Click on “Career Assessment”
    • Step 4• Press “Start” to be taken to the Interest Assessment
    • Step 5• Click “Start Assessment”• There are 72 statements to read. There are no right or wrong answers. The more you answer, the more accurate your results will be.
    • Step 5 (continued)• Read each statement and select: • Thumbs Up if you think you would like the work activity • ? if you are not sure • Thumbs Down if you do not think you would like the work activity
    • Step 6• Once you have finished, you will receive a list of potential careers based on your likes and dislikes. Results are listed in alphabetical order and vary based on the amount of education• Be sure to click on each tab to view your options: * Less than 2 year degree * 4-year degree * 2-year degree * 4-year degree or higher
    • Step 7• Pay attention to the careers labeled as “In Demand” in green
    • Step 8• Make sure you look at the salaries for careers of interest • Note: beginning salary and median salary
    • Step 9• Finally, create a list of potential career choices.• Keep in mind careers that are “In Demand” for this area, amount of education required, and starting & median salary
