1. Soil pollution:-
The process of reducing the fertility of soil
is called soil pollution
Causes of soil pollution:-
Polluted
water
seepage
Effects:-
• soil erosion
• loss of soil fertility
Prevention:-
Air &water pollution should be
stopped to check soil pollution.
Over use of fertilizer & pesticides
should be checked.
Medical waste should be detoxified
before disposal.
Non-biodegradable garbage should
be dumped in sanitary landfill.
Noise pollution:-
The presence of loud noise in the air is
called sound or noise pollution
Causes of noise pollution:-
Generators
Effects:-
•Mental fatigue
•Risk of deaf
Prevention:-
Industries, railway station, airport should
be away from human settlement.
Soundless machines can be used.
Ban on loud music.
Building must be sound proof.
Earplugs can be used.

Environment:-means the sum
of all living and non-living things
that surround an organism, or
group of organisms. A variety of
environmental problems now
affect our entire world and
pollution is the major.
Pollution:-it refers to all the
ways that human activity harms
the natural environment. It
defined as an undesirable
change in the physical, chemical
or biological characteristics of
our air, water & land that may
harmfully affect human life &
other species also.
Types of pollution:-
Air pollution:-
It is the contamination of the air by
substances such as fuel exhaust &smoke.
Causes of air pollution:-
Industrial
effluents
Smoking
from
burning
pesticides
Effects:-
•Acid rain which damage crops, building
&sculptural.
•Harmful gases cause headache, dizziness,
skin allergies, breathing problems.
Prevention:-
Alternate energy sources should be used
like CNG& solar energy in vehicles.
Pollution industries should not be
allowed near cities.
Tree plantation should encourage.
Open burning of garbage should be
avoided.
Water pollution:-
The contamination of water sources by
harmful waste, sewage, toxic chemical, oils
etc is called water pollution.
Causes of water pollution:-
Effects :-
•Borne diseases-jaundice, cholera, typhoid
etc.
•Plants & fishes also die in polluted water.
Prevention:-
Domestic waste should be treated releasing
the residue.
Industries should install treatment plant of
waste management.
Overuse of pesticides& chemical fertilizer
should be stopped.
Bacteria purification plants should be used.
