  9. 9. Preface IIPreface I The purpose of the first edition of this book was In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the twofold. The first and foremost is to serve the truth aboutmost Merciful, peace be upon Prophet Muhammad and religion and other matters. The second was to see howhis followers until the last Day of Judgment. We ask this subject would be received by Muslims around theAllah to protect us from evil. We thank Allah for his world, by American Muslims, and by Americans who areguidance. not Muslims. The majority of commentators from these three groups found the subject matter well- researched I am a witness that there is only one God (Allah), and of considerable interest. Some recommended that theand Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the last book needed improvement.messenger and prophet of Allah. I also witness thatMuhammad (pbuh) was sent by Allah as a covenant for With these comments in mind, I decided to makethe world. I believe in all of Allah’s prophets up to the needed changes in the book. In order to better serveJesus(pbuh), son of Mary and the last messenger for the truth about Allah’s world, I have tried to improve thisthe(bani Israel) and all of Allah’s books(Torah to edition. To do this I have tried to provide a more detailedMosses); (Injeel to Jesus); (Zabor (psalm) to David); explanation of the historical events and people described(Qur’an to Muhammad(pbuh) and all the revelations of herein. This second edition also contains part 5 titles (General Information About Islam). I hope it answers the most important questions that have been raised. 17 18
  10. 10. Preface III The Christian and some Israeli scholars whom I met agree that Muhammad (pbuh) is the last prophet. The The first edition of the book was distributed in a book attracted them to the numerous quotations of versesvery short time. There was pressing demand from from the Bible, which, as a result led them ponder uponreaders, who were willing to pay any price for such a the verses a one step further, Many of them are still inbook. Therewas a tremendous appreciation of the subject matter ofthe book. Saudi Government and other Muslimgovernments showed their keen interest in the book’stranslation in Arabic and as well as in other languages. The wide circulation of the second editionbrought in many encouraging comments. 19 20
  11. 11. Letters from the editors It is my hope, if it be the will of Allah, that this book will help people of all beliefs come closer to Allah I was born into Catholicism in 1953. It was not through the true and most complete religion, Islam. It isuntil 1978 that I was introduced to Islam while in also my hope that after reading this book, people willMalaysia. After I had seen, heard, and felt some study the Qur’an and the teaching of the Holy Prophetextraordinary events related to Islam, and discussed Islam Muhammad (pbuh) and become Muslims, the servants towith many understanding and patient Malaysian Allah’s will.Muslims, I also became a Muslim. Since those days,Islam has been the most important influence in my life. Thomas Kamal Reduan Bandolin I met Kais Al-Kalby in Logan, Utah, during the Former Chapter President – American Muslimsummer of 1989. We discussed his ideas for this book Cultural Associationand I decided to help him with the writing and edition. Washington, DC, U.S.AAssisting kais has taught me many things about Islam, thehistory of Prophet Muhammad (pub), his times, and theholy prophets, which came before him I thank Allah forallowing me this opportunity to learn. This book is an interesting presentation of theHoly Scriptures with an interpretation of their historicaland prophetic contents. The objective in writing thenarrative is an attempt to present the information in asimple and easy to understand way. As an American, Ihave come to realize that Americans have very littleknowledge of the history relative to the coming of Islamand Islam itself. They also have very little knowledge ofthe history relative to their own religious beliefs. Withthis book, kais has attempted to bring insight andknowledge of the truth relative to Allah’s will and laws,as well as the purpose and teachings of Allah’s prophets,I am totally convinced that Prophet Muhammad (pub) ismentioned numerous times in the Bible as the last andgreatest Messenger and Prophet of Allah. 21 22

August 14, 1990 About a week before conversion to Islam I had a Why I converted to Islam: dream, a dream like no other I had ever had. 13. 13. Letter from the First Editor RECOMMENDATION I met Mr. Kais al Kalby a week after I came from The Qur’an says, “And when Jesus, son of Mary,Pakistan and during the first meeting I was greatly said “O children of Israel Lo! All Muslims, therefore, believe that Esaintensive study of the Bible, Torah (Old Testament), and (Jesus) did foretell the advent of Muhammad Ahmad al-Qur’an, and was proving scientifically and logically that Mustafa Sallal –Lahu alaihe wa sallam (SAWS) peacethe Bible and Torah had given ample prophecies and blessings be upon him – the last messenger of God.regarding the advent of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). Yet any knowledgeable Christian or Jew would deny such. I had the honor of compiling, translating, andediting the research done by Mr. Kais and I would like to Their denial has further invigorated the Muslimsay that the facts extracted from the Bible and Torah ( position that the Bible we have today in neither the TorahOld Testament) are extremely conclusive of the fact that revealed to Moses or the Gospel (Injil) revealed to Jesusthese two books of God had made it very clear that the Alaihum al salam, respectively, but that the Bible hasnext prophet to come was Muhammad(pbuh). been edited or corrupted by both deletions and additions at the hands of tribes who did not fear God. Mr. Kent said in a letter to me concerning Isaiah 42:1-7, “I think these verses work well as a prophecy of Muhammad(pbuh). They do not work as well for the Christian claim thatthey refer to Jesus (pbuh) because Jesus came for the Jews notimplies that the cults of graven images will suffer loss and itmight be claimed that Muhammad (pbuh) did the better job oferadicating those cults.” Mr. Kent’s youngest son is now a Muslim.
