  • 1. Winning & Losing The idea of For ___________
  • 2. I am a terrific student at my school.
  • 3. I have friends and classmates at school.
  • 4. Sometimes, we play games. We play games on the playground and in different classes.
  • 5. In class, we play games to learn new information.
  • 6. Sometimes, we play games for fun.
  • 7. Some games have no winners and no losers. These games are called “cooperative games”.
  • 8. Some games have a winner and at least one loser. These games are called “competitive games.” Soccer, football and Monopoly are examples of competitive games.
  • 9. When I play a competitive game, I like to win. Everybody feels proud when they win a game.
  • 10. Someone has to be the loser in a competitive game. Sometimes, losing feels bad or sad. It is OK to lose in a game.
  • 11. I can be a “good loser”. This is the mature and intelligent thing to do. Being a “good loser” means that I feel two things at the same time. I feel sad because I did not win + I feel happy because my friend did win.
  • 12. When I lose a game, I have a choice. I could say or Congratulations! Oh well, maybe I’ll win next time !
  • 13. By the time children are in school, they understand how to be a “good loser”. I am learning this too.
  • 14. I am a fabulous person. When I play a game, I can be a “good loser”. This is the smart thing to do.
